About Luiza

A Brazilian engineer building AI for local businesses in the Maritimes.

From Telecom in Brazil to Quality Engineering in Canada, I've spent 15 years learning how to make teams work better. Now I'm applying that rigor to help local businesses implement AI right.

My Story

From Satellite Engineer to senior Tech Leader — then building something of my own.

I studied telecommunications engineering at a federal university in Brazil. After graduating, I spent three years as a satellite engineer at Claro Satélites — working on the systems that keep communications infrastructure running at scale. It gave me a foundation in systems thinking that I carry into everything I do today.

In 2017, I moved to Canada. I didn't start in tech here — I started at a call center. Blue Ocean Contact Centers. I answered phones, solved problems, and sharpened my English in real conversations every day. It was humbling, and it was exactly what I needed. I learned how people actually experience the systems that engineers build.

From there, I moved into performance testing at Samsung, then quality engineering at RBC — one of Canada's largest banks. I went from hands-on QE work to leading quality engineering across their Caribbean digital banking division. We delivered $300K in project savings. We prevented 25% of defects before they reached production.

But I kept seeing the same problem: most businesses never get access to that level of expertise. They buy generic software and try to fit their work around it. They don't get to say, “We need something custom. We need it built around how we actually operate.”

That's why I built VeriAura.

Started fresh in Halifax at a call center. Built communication skills in English and gained firsthand understanding of how people experience the systems engineers build.
2019–2021
Performance Tester — Samsung
Two years in performance testing, building expertise in cloud data pipelines, database testing, and automated monitoring systems.
2021–Present
RBC — Quality Engineering Leadership
Quality Engineer → QE Lead → Senior Manager, Quality Engineering. Delivered $300K in savings. Achieved 25% defect prevention through BDD. Increased mobile app automation coverage by 50%.
March 2026
VeriAura Founded
Incorporated Veri Aura Inc. to bring senior-level AI expertise to local businesses in Atlantic Canada and beyond.
Why This Exists

Why I built VeriAura

The Problem

I watched smart business owners buy software that didn't fit. They'd spend months forcing their workflows into a tool designed for someone else's workflow. Teams would create workarounds. Documentation would get out of sync. Then someone would build a spreadsheet to track the workarounds to the tool that was supposed to replace the spreadsheet.

And when they tried to get help, they couldn't. The consulting firms that have this expertise charge for enterprise engagements. They need deals in the $500K+ range. A growing business in Halifax doesn't have access to that.

The Solution

VeriAura is the on-ramp. You get a senior engineering leader who's spent over a decade watching how teams actually work — from customer service to quality engineering to banking operations. Who understands systems thinking. Who knows how to ask the right questions.

We discover what you really need. We build it. We train your team to use it. Then we stick around to support it. You get expert capability at a scale that works for a growing business.

How I Work

Values that guide everything

Integrity

I won't recommend a solution we don't believe in, sell a tool that won't work for you, or hide what didn't work. You get honesty, even when it's uncomfortable.

Evidence over Assumption

We audit your workflows before proposing solutions. We test before we roll out. We measure results. Gut feel doesn't replace data — not for important decisions.

Clarity

You should understand what's being built, why, and how much it costs. No hidden complexity. No vendor lock-in. Clear path from problem to solution.

Fairness

You shouldn't have to hire RBC-level engineering expertise to get AI right. VeriAura is built so growing businesses can access senior capability at a fair price.

Honesty above Comfort

If your project won't work, you'll hear it from me — not a sales team. If we're not the right partner, I'll tell you. Hard conversations beat expensive mistakes.

Transparency

You'll see how the system works. There are no black boxes. Your team learns. You own the solution. You're not dependent on us.

Beyond the Work

What I do when I'm not building AI

I'm a new mom, based in Halifax, and passionate about women in technology. I speak at conferences, mentor engineers, and believe the AI era needs diverse voices at the table — not just because it's right, but because it makes better products.

I'm available for speaking engagements on practical AI implementation, building with intention, and creating space for women in tech.
